Canadians at Speed Week 2004

small logo

You can't race like this on Windsor Salt

There are plenty of folks who travel allot farther than us, crews come from europe, New Zealand, Australia too, but it's important to us to share a bit of coverage of those guys who share our home turf. Canada. After all, we are a fraternity of sorts, some of us have even managed to pit adjacent to each other, and we always cheer each other on.

Mike McCrimmon & crew, Red Deer, Alberta
best speed 128.830 mph. They beat the 2003 record, but not before another crew (Steve's Machine) had pushed it up to 146.356

Dick Knorr and crew hail from Summerland B.C. They're running this Opal powered by a Pontiac overhead valve six cylinder. Their best speed of 2004 was 178.819 mph, the current record in their class is 202.098

261 B/GR Watson & Weldon
How is it that I could pit next to them, run the same track all week and still not get a picture? My bad. The record Gary and crew are running on is 232.346

Any time you get to bump a record by 40 mph is a good time, 2004 was a good time for Team Arrow!

Designer/Builder Bob Williams provided the Push Start for Gary Hensley the driver of this streamline motorcycle.
