2004 Speed Week - August 19

August 19 2004
The rain Wednesday evening made for a spectacular approach to the course Thursday morning . Presenting competitors with a lake where the Staging and Start area had been. The course start had to be moved to the 1 mile mark before racing could get underway.

August 19 2004
On Ted's run Wednesday we had tried our first push start. This run would be Don's first with a push from Ken Henshilwood. The tall gear in 1149 makes it a slow starter, push truck can really help the race car in it's initial acceleration. Don ran 189.228 this run due to a missed shift.

August 20 2004
Don in pre-stage Friday Morning. Thursday had been a short day due to the rain delay. Ted mad a couple more runs Friday in an effort to crack 200, but it wasn't to be.
